NEWSLETTERS August Hello to members & friends, What a summer! Looks as if there is more to come .Now for the updates on what is going on Past ,present & future. We shall deal with past events 1st , The annual show on the 1st August at the Corn Exchange was , despite the weather a success and we thank you all for entering your exhibits . The raffle with prizes given by local businesses and local people was also a success , we shall do that format again next year . A big thank you to the businesses & people. Going onto Carols personal challenge of swimming 70 miles (in stages at a local pool ) was completed , so now , please if you sponsored her and not paid , can you please pay Carol as soon as possible . I can applaud her for her diligence in completing that challenge. Now for planned trips ;on WED 9th September there is a trip with Grayscroft coaches to Doddington Hall, there is free time in Lincoln city centre (approx1,5 /2hours) before progressing onto Doddington Cost £32 for seniors £33 for adults ,this includes admission to the house & gardens , refreshments available , pick up in Alford at 9am ,10 or more bookings required or else you have to go to Mablethorpe (9.25 or Louth at 10am,) contact Carol on 07375886777 to register interest ,payment to Grayscroft Bus services Ltd. Friday18th September Sonia Elton the owner of Baumber Walled garden , will give the history of the estate in the 18th & 19th century and the progression of repair and how it became what it is today. .The cost is £15 all inclusive to include a trio of soup and a loaf of bread .car share is available , again let Carol know if you wish to go . plenty to see and plants and accessories to buy. Another Grayscroft trip 0n Friday 20th november, Festive Flicks & Fireside treat, with a private viewing of Love Actually at the Kinema in the woods Woodhall Spa ( 11.30am) followed by a festive afternoon tea at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa at 2.30pm cost Senior £57.50 adult £58.50 , pick up in Alford 9.30am again it is subject to 10 or more bookings otherwise pick in Mablethorpe at 10.20 or Louth 10.45. Sunday Dec 13th Beverley Festival of Christmas , a Christmas wonderland with 120 stalls brimming with Christmas treats & gifts . cost £25 payment to Grayscroft Bus services Ltd 9.15 pick up by feeder coach. 10 or more people needed , only 20 seats left so Carol needs to know who is going .Payment on booking your seat . remember Carol has to know who is going ,but all cheques & payments to Grayscroft bus services Ltd we have to know early to secure seats . Our next social is on Friday 25th September at the Corn exchange, Names ………………………………………… PLACES……………….for Lasagne ,new potatoes ,garlic butter,& salad ………….or Vegetarian Lasagne, new potatoes, garlic butter & salad……………. OR Cheese salad & new potatoes. ……………….. the Guest speaker was Hazel Down –cheese making on our dairy farm in Devon , unfortunately she is ill and cannot attend so please look at social media for any update .
