FUTURE EVENTS Usher Open Exhibition: art out of isolation 1 October 2022 - 7 January 2023 Usher Gallery, open Thursday to Monday 10am to 4pm, free entry After a protracted disruption to real creative expression during the pandemic, it's time to bring art back out of isolation so that it can be shared and celebrated once again. This exhibition showcases work by artists from across the county of Lincolnshire, and itis the first time the Usher Gallery Trust, a charitable organisation which supports the work of The Usher Gallery through fundraising and events, has organised an open exhibition. The aim of the exhibition is to support all residents of Lincolnshire who have a passion for art, to exhibit their work in the Usher Gallery in 2022. Ian Walter, Chair of the Usher Gallery Trust said: “The title of the exhibition acknowledges the pent-up energy for engagement with art that built up during the Covid pandemic. It has burst into life! The Trustees of the Usher Gallery Trust very much hope that you enjoy this exhibition of art, made in Lincolnshire.” The competition saw an impressive number of submissions. The Usher Gallery Trust received entries from 288 people across Lincolnshire, amounting to a grand total of over 700 pieces of art. Covering a variety of mediums from painting, photography, sculpture, fabric, graffiti to mixed media and including art styles from realism to pure abstraction. To select the final exhibition, the Trust worked with a panel of expert judges, who managed to whittle down the selection to 187 selected works, showing a total of 136 artists. Most works are for sale in the exhibition, and there will be something for everyone with the exhibition showcasing the broad range of artistic talent from across the county.
